This year of Web Development and Design was fun because I met many new people and acquired new skills. I am excited for my journey ahead of my in Web Development and Design because I will learn much more things and improve on my skills I already have. Some things are easy and hard in many different aspects but I find a way to overcome them and optimize it.
A good bit of the concepts I’ve learned were about foundation and starting with nothing to build something in your website that you need to make start to finish. They contribute to your growth by letting you understand and remember how to build out your website and to enhance performance. I learned many new things which lead to them building up my abilities of coding and understanding of code.
Projects I found the most challenging included Italy website, chapter practices, grid and flexbox. The Italy website, I found hard because we had to work with a partner and it can be hard to do that sometimes. It also was hard because the layout kept messing up and the communication wasn’t the best. I found the chapter practice assignments hard because some of them were tedious and a lot of work. The grid and flexbox was demanding because we had to make 2 webpages and I didn’t understand the 2 methods fully.
Most of my challenges involved remembering the code and inserting the right ones into the correct places to make them do the right thing while still working. I overcame most of my obstacles with writing it down to remember it and using the web to my advantage.
I feel like I’ve made good progress from starting without any knowledge on Website development to being able to make a whole website with effort and having it look nice. I have goals of getting better and hoping to own my own website in the future to sell stuff on there. In the future I will be able to reflect on my skill at this moment compared to 12th grade to see how much better I have gotten and if my skills improved, if so how much.
In conclusion, this has been a great school year for me in Web Development and Design and I’m hoping to have a good future. I have long and short term goals for my profession and I’ll try my best to fulfill them.
